Help! Unfair dismissal?

Hi,

This all happened during my probation period.. i am aware that I cannot really do anything but something else is bothering me.. i was sacked over a rumour that went around about me, which wasnt my fault and i wasnt happy. It wasnt fair at all. She then said i had the right to appeal which i said i would so then she would be in touch. I have heard nothing from them, and somebody new is starting today before i have even had my appeal! Is that right? Can they do that?

If it happened during your probation period they can dismiss you for the phase of the moon.

Depends on where in the world you are, depends on how long you have worked there, what your contract states and the laws in that country.... UK you need to file unfair dismissal yourself, not wait for them...if in the UK contact ACAS

NO you have the right to appeal. You need to realize that fair do not exist in employment, neither does your comment about something wasn't your fault and that you were not happy.. Dismissals during probation can with out cause, meaning the dismissal can be for any reason.. It is hard if not impossible to appeal them and win.

In the UK you can be let go any time in your probation period. It does not come under Unfair Dismissal. You have no rights.

You should have appealed straight away not waited for them to come back to you.
