I am very new into stocks. I was wondering that if a company releases a quarter report that shows a high EPS, does the stock go up a lot?

Not usually. There are analysts who watch all quarter how the companies appear to be doing.

Sometimes. It is not the only factor. It may even go down at times. or just up a small amount. What I look for is the dividend they pay per month or quarter and whether it has been rising or not over the years. A stock with a crappy dividend is of no interest to a buy and hold investor like me.

It can, but it really depends. It normally depends on whether the shares beat the predicted EPS for the quarter. Analysts do their research and try to come to a consensus on what the EPS should be. If the shares beat the predicted EPS, then share price generally goes up. How much they gain is much more complex than just beating a predicted EPS. Conversely, if the shares don't beat the predicted EPS, it's likely that they will take a loss. Again, how much depends on a myriad of factors.
