Yes, still watch and enjoy. They take many things that are happening in real life (including political aspects) and write a story to make a point. The shows are still enjoyable, and yes very crude at times.

What do you mean by "now"?
Starting back in 2000 or so, technology got cheap enough so that they could create an entire episode in-house in just a few days, allowing them to turn this week's headlines into next week's episode of South Park.
However even before that, and going all the way back to their Christmas Special that started it all, South Park has ALWAYS been highly politicized.

No, I stopped enjoying it years ago when Matt and Trey decided that including that weeks' Liberal outrage was more important than being funny. Matt and Trey used to be edgy and subversive now they just tow the Liberal agenda week in and week out.
