F 16. Can I go to school the day before colonoscopy even tho I can't eat much? And what about the day of since I have it in the morning?
I'm guessing probably not the day of the colonoscopy because I do horribly with anesthesia and I throw up a lot afterwards. But hopefully I can go the day after! I'm just worried that I'll be too hungry to focus at school the day before. Btw I'm getting an endoscopy at the same time. Help.

I would not go before, for two reasons: 1) you are likely to need to stay near a toilet because you have to purge your colon completely and very unpredictably, and 2) because you are fasting and purging, you won't be at your best intellectual functioning. The day after should not be a problem. The anesthesia didn't seem bad to me at all, no holdover. I have no idea what happened during the colonoscopy though. One moment I was talking with the doc and nurse, and next moment they were telling me it was done. Complete shutdown for that window of time. Total blank.

You may be OK the day before but not the day of the procedure. The day following the procedure you should be fine.

No.
You have to take an industrial strength laxative the day before.
Starting about 120 minutes after you take the laxative, you will spend the rest of the day on the toilet. Don't plan on leaving the house. And do not eaqt, or you will have to do it ALL again.
The day AFTER will be fine.
Don't worry about the anesthetic. It is lighter than normal because they need you semi-conscious to help get on and off the surgery table.

You will be running to the bathroom every 20 minutes the day before, so you DO NOT want to be in school when that is happening. Really.
The afternoon of the day of the procedure you will be very tired and will just want to sleep.

The prep the day before might make that uncomfortable - not only can you not eat (it's not that you can't eat much, you can not eat at all during the 24 hours before), you take a power solution that empties your bowels completely. You will not want to do that at school.

Why don't you opt for a half day by arrangement with the school? That will be less onerous and give you time to settle down. It's probably best not to eat in the afternoon as this should reduce the likelihood of honking up.
