Mouse pointer freezes randomly but still able to click.?

I've googled this with and without specific details and found many solutions all which did not solve this problem. I've tried device updating, changing ports, and a few others. No i haven't tried using the mouse on another computer yet as I don't want to have to buy another computer for one problem. But anyway this continues and I can't figure out why.

    Is this a mouse hooked by a cable to the computer or a wireless one? If it is wireless then try changing the battery in the mouse.

    but maybe you have a friend, relative, or neighbor with a computer who would allow you to test the mouse on his device?
