Not me but in one of my previous companies, few guys had. It could feel good and bad at the same time. Good, because you are back with same guys and know the job well. Bad because you might think that others think you couldn't find a good job and so you returned. In fact I also made a decision to go back but due to some personal reasons, did not go through. Not finding a job is one of the reasons. Quitting a job in haste and later realising it could be another. You might also be approached by the company itself, if they feel you are still the best guy for the job.

And yes, people tend to stay longer enough so that they are not seen as job hoppers, especially going back to the same company.

I did once. It was a telemarketing office. I had the headphones and on one call I introduced myself and the company I was with and the awful disgusting old man started cussing up a storm. It took me a second to get the headphones off in the meantime I heard cuss words I some I had never heard before. I cussed him back after the phone was disconnected and the boss came up and told me to take a break. I told him no I need to get back on the phone, knowing if I didn't the scene would replay in my mind for days. He insisted I take a break so I cussed him out and left. A few days later he called and invited me back to work and I went back. The scene did replay in my mind for the days I was off. A good way I know now to stop that is to picture the person like a clown with a big nose and just looking ridiculous. I didn't know to do that then.

I left to finish my education and was offered a job to return. Still there after 30 years, although the workplace has changed dramatically over that time.
