People with Asperger's, Do you feel Asperger's should go back to being its own diagnosis?
Update: I am asking because I am curious, I was diagnosed with Asperger's before it was changed to be included in the diagnosis of ASD and though I don't have an issue with the change I have heard from many other people who were diagnosed with Asperger's that they didn't like the change and it made me curious to see how many people also felt that way and why

I wonder why you ask this...
Asperger isn't a distinct enough diagnosis, the only difference between Asperger Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder is that the latter has developmental delays...but by the time Autistic people reach adulthood those differences may no longer exist and thus it can be impossible to tell people with these two diagnosis apart. Often people will only use Asperger as a way of distancing themselves from Autistic people due to prejudices and stigma. Also consider where the Asperger Syndrome label came from, Asperger was involved with the Nazi's so is that really something people should want to be associated with?
