Hi what book do you recommend that talks about Alexander the Great?

I want to know of how he became unique, great military leader, how he became a Greek King, & why he annex Greece to India & Egypt? I want to know what was like being a Greek King & what was the experience for the last 10 yrs he fight? Or was it 10 yrs? Was he a good king, bad or neutral? Why is he so famous to this day? In Egypt, why there is a city called Alexandria? Does it have to do Alexander?

After his death, what happened to the empire? Did the Romans invaded Greece after his death? Or did they? And what ever happened to Alexander shield & sword? Why this man is so controversial? Thank you!

There are many biographies of him, and at least a few good biographies and documentaries on YouTube. Alexander was the son of a king and a very gifted military genius. He took advantage of political divisions in Greece to conquer that country, and then turned his attention to Persia. In series of stunning victories he beat all the Persian armies, conquering Egypt in the process. The priests there declared him a god, a claim that apparently went to his head, as he believed it. He founded the city of Alexandria, as well as many cities all over the Middle East. His army made it all the way to India, where his men convinced him to turn back to go home. He died suddenly, leaving his generals to fight over his empire. Two kingdoms emerged from that, the Ptolemies in Egypt, and the Seleucids in Asia. A number of smaller kingdoms arose from those as well, but the Ptolemy dynasty lasted until the last Cleopatra. Alexander was an enthusiastic booster of Greek culture and values. Persians have never really forgiven him, and they recall his conquest with sadness.
