How can people be broke when they can just go to the ATM and get money?

I don’t get why people are broke

All they have to do is go to the ATM, type how much they want, and the machine gives it to them.

Why am I the only one who thought of this?

This is joke, right? The money you get from an ATM comes from an account that you own. If there's no money in the account -- in other words, you're broke -- there will be no money coming out.
