4 in 10 millennials don't know 6 million Jews were killed in Holocaust, study shows
NEW YORK -- More than one-fifth of millennials in the U.S. -- 22 percent -- haven't heard of, or aren't sure if they've heard of, the Holocaust, according to a study published Thursday, on Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day. The study, which was commissioned by The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and conducted by Schoen Consulting, also found that 11 percent of U.S. adults overall haven't heard of the Holocaust or aren't sure if they did. This is a very unfortunate situation when ignorance is winning on minds of young people. This is right no just regarding WW2 issues and the Holocaust, but it the lack of general knowledge about world history.
This is happening to young people that are on the left and the right side of politics.
The left is focusing on "human rights" and "justice", but strangely sometimes forget the Jewish Holocaust and antisemitism and focus on other nations, mainly Arab (perhaps this is more "romantic"). And the right focus on nationality and forgets sometimes human rights issues.
Most of them are not antisemitic in their core, but their actions can lead to that.

If you checked into it those same 4 of 10 millennial are ignorant of history in general, in fact if they didn't see it on "Fox" or "CNN" it didn't happen as far as they're concerned.

"4 in 10 millennials don't know 6 million Jews were killed in Holocaust, study shows"
It's clear your not complaining enough, do expect other people to do it for you? How on earth do you expect to make people feel guilty when you don't nag at them and keep reminding them?

There is a rise in anti-Semitism today but there is a rise in hatred generally. What we fail to realize is that we are all in this together. When hate and bigotry is aimed at any one group of people, it invariably is aimed at all of us. This hatred is the product of nativism which is rampant in just about all countries. My feeling is that it comes from the failure of capitalism to spread opportunity and wealth evenly. The few have become very wealthy and the majority have seen their hopes dashed. This has created anger and populist politicians have used this anger to gain power by centring out minorities. Millennials are prime candidates for this kind of politicking because for many (most?) the future seems very bleak indeed. So, while anti-Semitism is rising, so is anger and hatred fueled by economic realities and unscrupulous politicians who use this to further their quest for power.

It was 70+ years ago and they regard it is an historical event which has little meaning for them in their version of the modern world. The only younger people who focus on it are those who push conspiracy theories linked to anti-semitism and the so-called Illuminati. For thousands of years humans have preferred stories... For thousands of years only a select few have studied real history and been called upon as advisors to those in actual power.
How many today, when considering Independence Day, have the slightest notion of the actual international politics of that time?

The holocaust numbers are estimations made by the Russians. Some of the sites such as Auschwitz, where millions supposedly were systematically killed, have absolutely no concrete evidence that a holocaust ever took place. Even the gas chamber they parade around at Auschwitz is a phony.

Not sure if it's anti-semitism. Most people, especially Americans, are generally ignorant of history. Japanese and German governments throughout the 1960's, 70's and 80's downplayed their roles in WWII.
