If two events are independent, the probability of both events happening is the product of the individual events.

For example if the probability of flipping heads on a coin is 1/2 and the probability of rolling six on a die is 1/6, then the probability of both events is 1/2 * 1/6 = 1/12

    In other words:

    P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B)

    = 0.46 * 0.28

    = 0.1288

    P( A and B) = P(A)*P(B) SInce A and B are independent

    = (0.46)(0.28) =0.1288
