Why are bakeries closed on Mondays? I'm not talking about bakery departments in stores. I mean stores that are just bakeries.?

Tradition... They are open on Saturdays,
5 or 6 day work week means Monday is the usual day off; just as doctors take Wednesday.
Actually the Monday was not "Off", they were closed for maintenance and in the olden days to go and buy their materials (grain), etc. Monday being "market day".

In the US the same reason barber shops are, they work Saturdays and close Monday so all employees get a 2 day weekend

Bakeries make most of their money on Weekends, so Monday they are closed to restock, go to the bank, just take that one day off, etc.

Because many are open on Saturday, and still take a two day weekend break. I believe trending shows that most bakeries do more business as the weekend approaches, and a big saturday business. Most people defer any parties, especially birthday parties to when they have more time and order late in the week for saturday celebrations.

Maybe they need to bake all their products on that day, ready for sale?
If they bake on Sunday, they'll never have a day off!

My only guess is that Mondays are the least busy days, OR ... bakers need a break.

none of them are closed on mondays in my city...where you live has a lot to do with when various stores are open. I worked at one for 15 years and it was never closed, ran 7 days a week.
