Hp Laptop battery help?

My laptop has always said “plugged in it charging” so I just leave it plugged in and I don’t have a problem. Usually tho I just take out the battery and quickly pop it back in and it starts to charge fine. Now even when I do that it won’t charge. Is there any way I can fix this? I’ve tried a lot and I’m thinking I just need a new battery but I don’t wanna spend the money lol so if anyone knows any methods then that’s awesome. Also do laptops usually come with a spare battery. I bought mine a couple years ago and I still have the box somewhere. Idk if there might be a spare battery in there but I don’t want to waste my time looking if there isn’t.

no spare battery. Hp usually quote the life of a battery being 300-500 cycles where a cycle is fully charge fully discharge. so if you use it every day then thats about 12 - 18 months. Then you need a new one.

My laptop’s battery is 3 in a half years old, and it’s in terrible condition. batteries are lucky to last this long, so just buy another one off of amazon or something.

those batteries are only good for about three years. sounds like yours is dead. google for an off brand replacement

My laptop only came with the one battery. You know you can use your computer plugged in without a battery.

well mine has the same problem, and it will only charge when my computer has been shut down. Maybe that might help?

Also try finding that spare battery... that probably would save alot of inconvenience....
