Don't take your own. Go to a local photography studio that specializes in passport photos. I've heard of dozens and dozens of passports being rejected for their photos.

Otherwise, you have to say the country. Each country has their own photo requirements for passports.

You have to go to a photo booth or the post office to have a passport photo taken.
