Liberals are trying to do away with electoral vote. Don't they know most Americans don't want their fate decided by California and New York?

the left doesn't care what you do or don't want. what they want is power over you and this movement is a way for them to try and get it.
note that under a popular vote scheme, adding another 3 million illegal aliens voting in CA has consequences for everyone ... not just for CA

Pretty sure that isn't going to happen since the EC is part of the constitution.

That's simply not true. Doing away with the electoral college would allow the majority to reliably decide the presidency. So if California and New York made up a majority (which they do not) then the majority would want them to be able to decide things.

Bummer, of course most Americans don’t “want their fate decided” by Texas either. Still, I am sure glad regressives admit they can’t win the popular vote. 1 person, 1 vote. FYI, 40% of California voted for 🤡OTUS, in 2016 that was 5 million votes that ended up going to Hillary. The same is true for New York.

Actually, we're hoping to bypass it, thereby avoiding the cumbersome Constitutional Convention and Amendment process. And I hope we succeed.

Any smart person sees the damage that the Electoral College does to the individual voter.

Why can't you grasp the simple fact that doing away with the electoral system would mean everyone's vote was counted?
That would mean that no state would vote as a state at all.
That would mean that cranks in California and New York wouldn't have their votes go to support the majority of Californians Or New Yorkers, but actually go tot he people they wanted elected.
Your system means over five million registered Republicans in California have no vote at all, while the majority Democrats cast those votes for their candidate.
There is no good reason that one man's vote should count more than another's merely for him living in a crappy shithole of a state.
