To tourists,Why do you like traveling to European countries than asian?
Most people i knew would travel to Paris,London,Italy,Ireland.mainly cause theyre beautiful&peaceful.
But no asian countries like China&Korea or india.
the tourists probably avoid asia cause the culture is hard&its government in Korea&japan has more cruel treatment.American tourists must feel they dont want to suffer the life style or xenophobia in china&japan.

I'd rather visit my ancestral land than a foreign one.

As a European I've noticed a lot of Americans come to visit their ancestral homelands rather than just visit Europe. I imagine most Asian Americans go to Asia rather than Europe and most black Americans go to Africa etc.

I've never traveled outside of the U.S. but I think it's because Europe is prettier and richer and more affordable

Because Asian countries are boring.

From the UK.
Been to India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. I enjoyed them all, but it's a significant amount of time, effort and money compared to hopping on a plane and being in another European country within the space of a few hours.
It has little or nothing to do with the reasons that you mentioned.

There is a lot more to Asia than China, Korea and India, another forty five countries in fact. People tend to visit countries nearby which is why from Australia tourists go to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, China and Japan more than they go to Europe which is much further away. Americans on the east coast who want to travel would tend to visit Europe while those on the west coast would be more likely to visit eastern Asia but as most Americans have never left the USA - not even to Mexico or Canada - the USA is not a good country to judge people's travel by.

Not true. If you live in Europe, another European country is closer, cheaper to travel to and easier. I have been lucky and traveled to China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. I love visiting other countries, but it is expensive. It has nothing to do with Xenophobia.

I can only speak for myself. I've never traveled outside of the US. If I had the money to do so it would be in Europe. Why? Because that's where my ancestors came from and because I am more familiar with European history than Asian history - especially the 1800s to the present - particularly the 1900s. I would want to visit places I know my ancestors once lived in (especially England and Germany).
Only if I saw all the countries in Europe I want to see would I then start thinking about traveling elsewhere. I would visit Russia and Egypt before Japan. I have no interest in visiting China or South Korea or any other Asian country.
