sunglass clips with prescription lenses to boost distance power?

this is a bizarre question: i have a pair of armani acetate frames. my prescription was done so it favors close up work but it is just a bit weak for distance (the difference between the two is only about a half point to 3/4 point but it is detectable by me). my frames have as an option a pair of sunglass clips. could these clips be made with the increased power difference to use for distance? or does the separate lenses throw off the prescription?

i'm thinking you'd ideally need to have both lenses fit tightly against each other--

any opinion would be helpful. thanks!

btw my prescription is roughly -6 to -7 with a bit of astigmatism in each eye

That should work quite well. I have done that often for patients , but going the other way to reduce the distance power for computer use.

You don t want the lenses touching each other , they will get all scratched up right in the center. With the relatively small power needed in the clip to make the difference , a mm or two between them won t affect the powers.

They could put powered lenses in your clips. There would be so little power in them that any distance between lenses would not matter.
