What was life like in the early 1900's?
Right now, I'm starting to write a novel set in the early 19th century, 1904 to be precise. Although I am having a bit of trouble finding out some specifics about the time period. Is there a website or link or anything that can help me find out a little bit more about the time period. Things like:
-Newspapers popular in that time
-What the working men wore, tailors, clerks etc.
-The interior of stores, tailors would be helpful,
-Any other information would be awesome.
Thank you

1904 was the 20th century. There are hundreds of websites, but you have to go find them. You can see photos of big cities and small towns, you can look at catalogs (like Sears) to see what common everyday items were used and how much they cost, there is all kinds of research you can do. To be a true novelist, you need to spend a lot of time doing research.

Different countries would have had different things and society, put in the country and time you want to look up.

The only way to find out is to read history books. We weren't living back then.

Newspapers were very popular around 1904. (fyi--that's the 20th century) For samples, click on:

For photos of clothing in 1904 (called the Edwardian period, after King Edward), click on:

For pictures of the interior of a tailor shop in 1904 click on:

In general, to see 1904 photos just do a web search saying "image 1904 (fill in this blank)"
