Will fatballs for birds go out of date?

I bought some fatballs for the burds last April, there's still 2 left in the packet, will it go out of date or not safe to feed?

    You will be able to smell if they've gone bad. If they have and the birds eat it, it will likely kill them.

    There should be an expiration date on the package. Suet will eventually go rancid, but I doubt that it would really hurt the birds to eat it.
