Why is Lit Fire Publishing so aggressive and nosey! Can't they take a hint that I don't want to talk to them?

Because they're desperate to separate money from inexperienced writer. They are not a legitimate publisher.

There are so many red flags that if you were a bull, you'd be dangerous.

Just hang up the moment they call. No words, or just say no.

Perhaps one of their employees loaned you some money some time ago, and you failed to pay it back when you said you would. Or maybe the managing director bought a second-hand lawnmower off you and it turned out to be a real pig and leaks oil everywhere and he wants his money back, or a mower that works. My suggestion is to get in touch with them and clear this whole, sordid mess up before it explodes into some real nastiness. Anything, really, so that you don't have to ask any more awful question on Yahoo Answers. Cheers.
