Most religions are polytheistic. They create gods to suit their purposes. Christianity is a polytheistic religion. They started off with the Old Testament God then they wanted Jesus to be a god and the Holy Spirit to be a god but they also wanted monotheism so they created the Trinity, a combination god that encompasses the three gods. They forgot, however, that Satan is also a god. Satan ticks every box for being a deity although the Christians don't call him one. Then you have the remarkable situation of Christians all claiming one God but not agreeing on what that God is. This is why there are more than 40,000 different varieties of Christian, all disagreeing with each other. In fact they have 40,000 different gods but they won't admit that.

No single god serves the purposes of any religion . Muslims can't agree on their god and have Satan too. Jews can't agree on theirs and they also have Satan. Most theists are polytheists, monotheism is a rarity.
