What kinds of modern technology do you refuse to adopt?
Perhaps something you see as more harmful in the long-run than it is helpful in the short-term? Or perhaps something that you feel over-complicates a process that didn't need technology in the first place? Please share as many as you can think of and explain why.

Wearables. Smart watches are so stupid to me. $300 dollars just so you don't have to reach into your pocket???

Fitbit (just unnecessary)
Convection cooking (probably because I just don't get it)
The credit card reader that attaches to a smart phone (I avoid like the plague because they do not print point of sale receipts and instead demand I give an email address and trust the vendor to send me one)
I think social media and texting are more harmful in the long run, but I can't claim I don't use both, in fact I feel forced to accept both.

It's not really modern technology. I can't understand our society's penchant to force people to wear clothes.
If think that if you feel comfortable you should be able to go topless, even nude. I don't understand what is the point of forcing people to wear clothes if they don't see the need.

I have little idea as I don't look into what I can't afford/have no interest in. Obviously, I have a computer and use the internet. I have a cell phone but just a flip phone, not a smart phone, which I have no interest in. I no longer use a TV because what little TV I would ever want to watch I get free online. So whatever else there is you can assume I "refuse to adopt" it, as I said because I really have no interest in it.

Food processing. This is not the same thing as technology which serves to preserve food in its natural condition for longer periods. Typical processed foods are ready meals, crisps, biscuits and similar items which are usually high in added salt and sugar, refined starch and chemical preservatives and play an important role in provoking obesity, diabetes and other health problems. By contrast, technology such as freezing, freeze-drying, vacuum packing, canning and sterilizing irradiation preserve food in its natural condition for longer and greatly improve the availability of fresh food regardless of season and storage limitations.

AI or what we call artificial intelligence. Computer is a machine who does not think by itself. Every step they do is automated and programmed by human. When you have an artificial intelligence, the computer (or processor) think by itself. Every judgment and process are decided by the machine. Humans have feeling and hearts in every judgment. Machine and computer do not. Suppose you have a human in critical condition. And maybe in the future, we have machine to help patients in a hospital. Based on its AI (heartbeat, blood pressure, brain function), the human cannot be cured. Then this machine with the AI, unplugged the respiratory machine to help the patient breathing. Real nurse will ask the family about this, judgment is based on feeling, past life with the patient and love. Which all of those cannot be calculated by the AI.
So I dont think we need AI. We need machines to help human and not to think by itself.

Facebook and other social media sites
Apps like Siri, Alexa, etc.
I don't really have the time or inclination to explain to you why. There's a hint in there.
