Why do democrats want farmers to employ ILLEGAL workers rather than LEGALLY qualified workers. ?

"legally qualified workers" are those who satisfy the legal requirements to work in the US such as:

(1) Apply for and obtain a WORK VISA ( I e, registration with authorities as to location and tenure of the job,

(2), Employer commit to report to authorities when job ends so that worker is required to leave US or apply for visa extension for new job.

(2) Be employed only at US jobs after the employer has exhausted attempts to fill the jobs with US workers.

It's not Democrats who want that, it's the farmers themselves. Get your facts straight.

To import more non white voters from the third world who will vote for left wing parties. The republicans want cheap labor to drive down wages for the working class.

There aren't enough existing workers to meet demand, and these workers generally don't qualify for work visas (despite being essential)

I'm not sure what politicians want. Farmers themselves simply want access to reliable, legal labor at a cost that they can afford to bear.

There is a visa class called H-2A, that farmers can apply to get workers for seasonal positions, but not year-round jobs, so farms like dairies, that operate year-round are left out.

And there is no way to get a visa for someone present in the US illegally, they must be brought in from their home country directly.

The H-2A visa is becoming more popular with farmers as local labor gets harder and harder to find. But there are a lot of problems with it. It's expensive, difficult to use, and fraught with red tape and delays.

The Left does not care about them as people. The Left simply wants ALL of them to be able to stay in the USA.

Obama had the question about citizenship removed from the 2010 Census. That let him count non-citizens (legal and illegal) the same as citizens for the purpose of allocating seats in the House of Representatives. That is actually illegal. However, California alone gained at least five (5) seats in the House due to the illegal use of the non-citizens to calculate the allocation. The seats states like CA gained were also taken from low-immigrant states that are mainly Red states. THAT is the reason the Left is so desperate to keep the millions upon millions of illegal aliens in the USA. The Left will also go all-out to keep the question about citizenship off the 2020 Census. You can expect the Left to get some crazy 9th Circuit Judge to issue a ruling which prohibits the citizenship question from being asked.

The same reason that republicans do. Because their corporate masters tell them to. It is to drive down wages for everyone.

Because farm workers cannot obtain a "work visa", except a very limited number for seasonal jobs only. Employing a person with one of those visas for a year-round job is illegal (and, anyway, there aren't enough of them available). Giving the regular type of work visa to a farm worker is also illegal. There is no legal way to hire a farm worker with a work visa for a year-round job.

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 “Democrats want”? Farmers hire whoever will do the job for the money. Your question implies that Democrats suggest or encourage they hire “illegals” over “legal applicants”.

    They don't

They just don't think we should be handing out work visas so farmers can pay less than market wages.

Did you know that during the recession of 2007 to 2008, there were at least 4 million openings for jobs in the farming sector that no one applied for?
