Apparently, you don't understand what "Shanghai" means. The British called it "Pressing," which meant that you were kidnapped and held below decks until the ship was well out to sea. And you were forced to work as a sailor under threat of severe corporal punishment. And Shanghai was very common in America long after the Revolutionary War, the port of Seattle was notorious for that.

If you don't want to pay union dues, you can always work at McDonald's, or Wal-Mart. Those companies actively work to bust up union activity.

I know it's difficult for conservatives to understand this but if you benefit from something you should help pay for that thing. If you get a better paycheck, health care and retirement program because of the work of the Union then you should help fund that Union. But conservatives just want a hand out from the people who do the actual work.

What YOU need to do is call the police and arrest the person who is holding a gun to your head forcing YOU to take a take a union job.

Without unions protecting the rights of workers, workers would continue to be abused, used, and underpaid. So joining a union gives workers protections. Nobody is forced, by the way, to join unions.

Why then should people who don't pay dues receive full union benefits?

Republicans will not allow Firemen and police To have their unions. Got it.
