just bought an acer aspire laptop but cant find the key to hold down to get the @ symbal?

    For a UK keyboard:Shift + '

    For a US keyboard:Shift + 2

    If the symbols you get when typing don't match the labels on the keys, then you need to change your keyboard language settings.

    You might have to press the Num Lock button on the keyboard or check the language selected is correct.
