If Obamacare was supposed to provide everyone affordable health insurance why are people now opting out?

My guess is they did research and now realize you might can afford the premiums. Barely. After that get the vasoline ready!

Thanks to Republican sabotage, beginning with the removal of the risk corridors for insurance companies, and later the removal of the mandate.

And since then why have premiums gone up 40%?

Why have neither Trump nor any Republicans offered a better plan?

People are not opting out. Trump and Big Healthcare are trying to starve it but it's not going down easy. Many things make the Republicans cry --science, paying taxes, giving people a fair health care program, strong women, Starbuck cups and watching as their Healthcare lobbyist tear up their checks.

It is very expensive insurance because it covers all pre-existing conditions for everyone. And, it is free insurance for everyone below a certain income level. And the deductibles are so high, it would not be used except for catastrophic illness/accident. It is insurance that no one would buy without being forced to by Obama.

I must say, this is about the only issue I agree with the Democrats, (though not single payer) but that insurance business is a nasty sleazy business who are only interested in their wallets. The whole health insurance Doctor relationship is/was a big racket and none of us were cashing in

"Obamacare" was not intended to make health insurance affordable. It was intended to destroy the private medical insurance industry (such as Blue Cross and Cigna) and the private medical care industry to prepare the way for a single-payer (government) system that would effectively be socialized medicine.

Obamacare was an income redistribution scheme. It really had nothing to do with providing healthcare.

Because the Republicans withheld money that was supposed to go to healthcare providers as they intentionally tried to destroy Obamacare.
