What are the college equivalents of Hollister and American Eagle?
So the "high school" brands are hollister and American eagle. What are the college equivalents then, since nobody wears hollister in college?

AEO actually caters to young adults specifically: about 15 to '20-somethings' is their target demographic. Hollister is more of a teen brand, but as long as you don't go too logo-crazy (this goes for any brand, really) no one will know you're wearing or not wearing a specific brand.
I am a proud AEO shopper (they have good quality clothes and frequent sales, and they're a body-positive company) but I also shop Target, Forever 21, H&M, occasionally Gap Factory and even...Walmart, at times. (I know their business practices are crappy but they have rock-bottom prices on summer wear especially!) It doesn't matter where you shop, as long as you're comfortable with the amount of money spent, and the clothes you're buying.
Again, just be careful with branded t-shirts and things...the HCO and A&F logos go out by the time you hit high school so they're definitely uncool once you hit college. But it's all relative!

You can get basics at Uniqlo, Everlane, Grana, Madewell, Roots, Levis, American Apparel, Jcrew, Gap, Old Navy, Muji, Joe Fresh, H&M, Mango, Zara etc...
However, this isn't middle school. Nobody cares what you are wearing. Its university most people are too busy to be bothered to notice what brand you're wearing or not and plenty of people wear American Eagle especially long into adulthood. Some still get basics at Hollister too. Who cares if you still shop there or other places for very casual basics? Seriously, there are far more important things to worry about.
