Dining Rewards Points, I run a restaurant, can I swipe my card for customers cash orders to collect the points?

    If you really owned a restaurant, you would now that when a restaurant swipes a card, the restaurant is charged a fee, which is more than the points would be worth.

    It would probably cost you more in fees than the points are worth and its probably against the rule....although I'm not sure they would catch you.

    When I ran a restaurant 30 years ago I would sometimes charge myself some cash. But it cost my store about 3.5% in fees so I did not do it often.

    That would be considered fraud, but knock yourself out. Points are earned only by the person actually doing the transaction (which is not you).

    Read the terms of servidce. Also remember that fee you pay the cc company on cc sales - likely more than the points are worth.
