Even if you don't do you think any members of your religion may have religious objections to the following hypothetical situation?

We've got to the point where many, many more people are living in space than on earth, say in something like O'Neill Cylinders. We're running out of easy to get to raw materials to expand further and we have two options to get more:

1) Lift material off of the sun.

2) Demolish planets like Mercury, Venus and/or Mars.

This scenario and both solutions are totally doable with current tech and common materials.

BQ: What if we got to the point of seriously considering demolishing Earth itself?

Update:

Because some people are having problems:

"hypothetical

ADJECTIVE

1Based on or serving as a hypothesis.

‘let us take a hypothetical case'"

We Pray! A bible verse is coming to mind that I hope sets you at ease:

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein.

In other words, God will not allow that to happen. :)

You let me know when this BS happens.

There is no feasible way to get materials from the sun. If we demolish the neighboring planets, we would die due to the lack of gravitational pull of the other planets not keeping earth in place. I think before we get to that point, we would have colonized the moon.

Yes. We are told in the Bible to redeem the time. Reading that just wasted a few moments of mine (and I don't have that much left.)

There are not more ppl living in space than on earth. This is a lie and i dunno anyone other than u who thinks it.

U can't lift materials off the sun, the radiation would cook ur organs even if u could withstand a million degree temperature

Demolishing planets is FAAAAAAAR FAR beyond human technical ability.

No, both are most certainly not doable with modern technology.

As u said nothing but lies, and are incapable of honesty, i assume ur a Christian?

It depends on the consequences of each action

most of which of course I am not aware

but I can imagine very serious (unpleasant / immoral) consequences resulting from all of the choices presented.

Aren't interstellar colony ships a far more economical and far less...devastating choice?
