If someone writes a song with the line. “Set our eyes” and another song with another line. “Set our will.” Is it considered a cliche?

    It's nearly impossible to write anything that doesn't include common phrases and vernacular.  In fact, doing so likely would make a lyric sound stilted or unnaturally formal.  Do watch for cliches, idioms, and adages that can be bent to a new meaning.  A-ha's "Take On Me", for example, asserts that "It's no better to be safe than sorry."
