    A 500 4 stroke will be faster than a 400 4 stroke. Same for 2 stroke.

If 0-30 is the only consideration then the answer will be in the gearing and suspension and weight.

Depends on ACTUAL motorcycles with ACTUAL ENGINES SPECIFIED. well tuned Kaw 500 triple can be a dragster yet- 650 Suzi S40 single has good low speed punch from moderate weight, gearing- but other posters note usable top speed of 85mph while old 380cc triple 2 stroke used to top 100mph easily.

Given equal size (displacement) engines, the Two-Stroke will produce more power and accelerate faster because it has a power stroke EVERY time the piston comes up to top dead center, while the Four-Stroke engine only fires every other time.

If you obey the speed limit, you will arrive at about the same time. Drive the one that you like driving.

    0-30?

A Honda CR 500 is a bit faster than a Yamaha 450F to that speed depending on gearing. But that is in fractions of a second.

Now a question back- Why do you ask?

I know that knowledge is great but some of it is trivial BS that just fills the brain cells up to leave less room for more important issues.

My 450-4 has more torque than a 500-2 but isn't as fast 0-30, thus one weighs against the other.
