Something like identify the problem using alternatives, define the goal, develop a plan and schedule, costs, implement the plan, follow through the implementation, achieve the goal, evaluate the results. That is the capitalist version. One of the more curious things is how a similar process works in socialist-communists systems, where this is all handled by the state and the people are taught to follow the orders of the government without thinking or questioning. So what motivates people to work? Well, the socialist-communist indoctrinate the workers with the concept of the "glory of work". You work for the reward of working. Don't think these people don't work. They do work. Mindless work, hard physical work, day in and day out, never questioning or trying to make things better. You would also be surprised at how none productive it is. Much of it is wasted effort and would be done differently if the work had a goal to accomplish. But since there is no goal, the work is aimless. Work for the glory of work. Just trying to be clear. There is a big difference in telling a guy to "move that rock from here to there" and telling the guy "beat on that rock here so it can be moved there".

That is going to be course specific sorry to say. Although there is a lot overlap in the many different systems out there, the top five really does depend on the specifics.
