Why do you hallucinate when you get sleep paralysis?

I’ve been getting sleep paralysis very often and in all honesty I just close my eyes so I won’t hallucinate stuff since I hear stories about it, but I was curious why we hallucinate while on sleep paralysis?

Well In the Islamic religion we don't consider them hallucinations, rather they are Jinns (Paranormal beings) invisible to the human eye however can reveal themselves, and what they do most commonly is form orbs around the room, spider webs or sometimes anything scary and kneel on your chest and choke you just before you pass out they leave. This is not a troll rather symptoms, if you'd prefer look it up? The paralysis is caused by consciousness during sleep btw the Jinns just take advantage of the moment. That's why in our religion we have certain prayers that protect us from the evil. Wish you luck :)

Hallucinations happen in your head. Closing your eyes will not help in the least. Why? You wake up and can not move. Your mind can play all kind of scenarios over this.
