My hand started hurting after I played guitar?

See I didn’t warm up before I started and I played for like 3 hours that day and it was bar chords after I got done playing my hand in the middle started hurting when I would extend my fingers out it’s mainly my middle finger when I can feel the pain the pain doesn’t seem as bad and I’ve took a break from guitar for about 2 days now any idea what happened?

    Yeah, you should probably rest it up for a little while more. I'd suggest doing a few warm-ups before you start, making sure to keep your wrist and arm straight, not playing with your guitar too low, and doing a few hand/finger stretches after you're done. It might be beneficial to also do some hand/finger stretches in your spare time too, you can look up videos for stretches on youtube.

  • It's RSI. Rest for a few days more. Now you know why you need to do warming-up exercises.

    Well it will do.. playing guitar (especially with metal strings) actually exerts great stress on the fingers and joints.
