I'm on a birth control pill and my doctor said I am having my period...but I couldn't of. I just had one!?

I'm on a birth control pill where I can have 3 to 4 periods a year. My last period was last month, so I'm not due for another one until October. However, I went to my annual physical a week ago and my doctor said that she saw a tiny drop of menstral blood in my urine. And I was like, "wait, but I just had a period last month?" She then dismissed it as possible dehydradation. However, now today, my whole body feels like I'm having a period. I'm stiff, sore and cramping everywhere. Ironically thats my only symptom. I know I haven't missed a pill. But is it possible to have a period without blood?

You do not have periods on the pill - on the pill you don't ovulate and thus you cannot menstruate, the bleeding you experience is a withdrawal bleed as a result of the drop in synthetic hormones during the break. If you've not missed any pills then what you're experiencing may be a breakthrough bleed, but the blood in the urine cannot be determined to be from the uterus without testing so it may have been blood from a mild urethral irritation.
