how many songs should you know to say you like a band????
i know you can like whatever you want and it shouldn't matter to anyone else, but i just wondered your opinions on what you'd consider acceptable to categorize yourself as a fan of a band, wear their merch, etc.

I wouldn't say, at all. Because there are hardcore fans of bands that get anal because they know every song and album to their favorite bands.
Just say, you like some of their songs. But never mention you're a fan if you're not a HARDCORE fan. Just giving you a heads up to avoid arguments I've had with people in the past.

My favorite singers are Weird Al Yankovic, Spike Jones & the City Slickers, and Stan Freberg. I liked all their output! (Look up Freberg's classics on You Tube: "The Old Payola Roll Blues," and "Elderly Man River.")
