Try typing "1+2+2+10x2+1-2" into your search engine and see what happens. Unless you're using the wrong browser the correct answer, 24, should pop right up on your screen immediately without even opening a web page. How hard is that? You don't have to wait for an answer, and you don't have to worry about getting a wrong answer, as you already see is possible here.

a. You do the multiplication first:
1+2+2+10x2+1-2 = 1+2+2+20+1-2
b. Then the additions:
1+2+2+20+1-2 = 26 - 2
c. Then the subtraction:
26 - 2 = 24
Though it doesn't really matter if steps b and c are reversed or done together.
Of course you can do it in your head easily once you understand about doing the multiplication first.
