In English, why is there this myth that pronouncing you the letter "s" hard signifies you are gay?

If you hear British English, the letter "s" is always pronounced hard and I know the whole island of Great Britain is not gay lol

Complete nonsense. Never heard such rubbish in all my life. Britain has a myriad of accents, so the way they speak is no guarantee that a person is either straight or gay. The vast majority of gay men sound like most other males. Only a few are obviously gay from the way they speak and are usually openly gay anyway. The stereotypical gay man that most people recognize.
