The lesson here, grasscrawler, is that a constitution written 240 years ago FAILS to keep up with life since then. Also, the original Constitution said that US Senators would be appointed by state legislatures. That was CHANGED in 1913, to popular vote in each state.

So, the stupidity of saying if the slave owning 1%ers in 1783 failed write it down, it cannot be done now, is utter willful ignorance, which is a thing to be ashamed of, not to be proud of.

No, but I can show Donald Trump won more representatives and representation of Americans than Hillary Clinton. Trump won 30 states, Trump won over 2,600 counties to Clinton’s almost 600 counties. Trump won way more precincts and districts than Clinton.

Actual Liberal Argument1: If you win the presidency but lose the popular vote you don't have a popular mandate and that makes your victory less powerful

Actual Liberal Argument 2: State laws should be changed to award electors proportionally based on votes.

Actual Liberal Argument 3: State laws should be changed to award all the states electors to the person who wins the popular vote nationally.

Liberals have argued all three points, but no liberal actually argues the point you make in your question.
