Have you ever seen someone wearing a shirt with NAMASTE printed across the front of it and really doesn t mean it?

No but I have had a friend sign off on a letter with "Namaste". When I asked her if she knew what it meant she said, it means "I love Yoga". I laughed my @ss off.

Isn't "namaste" yiddish for "apply to infested area?"

A few days, at the dog park,

I saw a woman wearing a shirt that said,

"Namaste

in bed

with my dog"

I doubt she knows

what the word means.

But it made me laugh.

I can't recall it, at least... However: anything, and any identity, can be exploited and commercialized like that, and turned into just another meaningless fashion item. So it probably exists... And it is probably worn by quite a few people who don't really give a CRAP what it means.

One thing I've always found kind of strange? Is how so many people seem to be willing to wear random slogans on their clothes, that mean absolutely NOTHING to them! Or even pay for clothing that advertises certain brand names... Basically PAYING to be a bloody advertising board! And the same goes for the use of symbols, and people just wearing them because they look "cool", or "fashionable", or whatever, without even knowing the true meaning of them! It's like.. WHAT? Why would you want to wear something you very possibly cannot stand for? Something that might even go completely contrary to your own values? I know, if I'm going to wear some kind of slogan, or a symbol..? It's going to be something that actually MEANS something special to me! Or that I at least find clever, or funny, or relatable in some way...
