Jehovah's Witnesses. Why is your Governing Body member lying to the world on this video?
David Splane says that Fred Franz, baptized in 1913, "as one of the Lord's appointed in 1914 he saw the sign and he understood what the sign meant." We can prove from Watchtower publications that in 1914 no one in the Watchtower organization saw any sign in 1914 and understood what it meant. In 1914 all Watchtower publications and followers were proclaiming that Jesus presence dated from 1874. David Splane is not telling the truth here.
Surely lies make Jehovah sad. Why can't they be faithful and discreet?
And let's not even go there about the whole overlapping generation being another lie to prop up a failing doctrinal lie.
Honestly, how can you trust these people?

The big give-away about what people like Fred Franz believed in 1913 is that, by the mid 1920s, they had changed what they'd said about the year 1914. Prior to 1914 and up until 1916, they insisted that Jesus' invisible return (or 'presence') had happened invisibly in 1874 and that 1914 would mark the battle of Armageddon.
When Armageddon still had not started by 1916 they changed a word here, and a word there, in new editions of books, to slip in the great change of beliefs about 1914. Instead of saying certain events would happen before (or at) 1914, they said those events would happen "shortly after" 1914. See p 228 of the 1906 book, "Thy Kingdom Come" then compare it with the 1916 edition. Then, when, shortly after 1914 those events still had not happened, they dropped the 1874 presence doctrine, substituting that date with 1914.
A year after Fred Franz was baptized, 'Pastor Russell's Sermons' were printed. Before Russell died in 1916 he adamantly wrote, "The present great war in Europe is the beginning of the Armageddon of the Scriptures... The glorious Kingdom of Messiah is about to be set up in the earth." (page 676) Well, Fred Franz believed all of that, but had to change his beliefs to fit in with the new interpretation of 'signs' that came within two decades of his baptism.
Another faux pas with that date can be seen with GB claims that after Satan had been hurled out of heaven down to earth in October 1914, he wrathfully stirred up the nations to start World War I. Ah, but that Great War had started in July/August of 1914, not after October. If Satan was busy fighting a war in heaven right up till after 1 October 1914, how could he have been down on earth causing WWI? That idea was clearly invented with hindsight - looking for some plausible 'sign' years after WWI had NOT led to Armageddon.
Why does the GB spin tall tales like that? To keep over 8 million people in thrall to their every pronouncement, that's why. They would lose their power base if those 8 million felt free to ask questions about the history presented to them by the GB.

NEVER trust an organization that defines lying as 'withholding truthful information from those that are ENTITLED to it'. When an organization cunningly defines lying this way, don't be surprised when the leaders of that organization starts using all manner of deception to hoodwink the members. They only have to tell themselves that the members aren't entitled to know certain inconvenient or "discouraging" facts about the organization's history and they give themselves license to deceive them.

Basically a JWs faith is only as good as the last bible study article they read in their watchtower magazines.
What was said a hundred years ago or last week by there watchtower may not mean anything to a JW at this very moment.

Why do you lie when you call Jesus God?
Thomas didn't call Jesus his God. Jesus never called himself God. John didn't call Jesus God. You don't quote the Bible.

Catholicism is the One True Faith and a person can know this with certainty by reciting daily and with care the angelic psalter of the Virgin Mary.

U forgot, rewriting all JW literature in 1914 to erase their failed lie of doomsday in the prophesized 1914 nonevent.

Yeah, just gloss over the whole fact the entire thing is lies, from insane people, going back to Jesus himself, who if the story can be believed, was told from a baby that he was the son of God, and then got nailed to a cross for saying it. Well, for saying they were a lying, hypocritical den of thieves anyway and turning over their money tables.

Without lies, what have they got?
