Is it possible to catch herpes on your genitals if you don't wash your hands before you go to the toilet and wipe?

You would have to touch a cold sore (which are caused by oral herpes) then with in seconds touch your genitals in order to get herpes that way.
You're not likely to get herpes from a toilet seat. It doesn't last long enough out side of the body to be passed through sharing / touching objects.
