If Jesus is truly god, why was his divinity MADE UP by 520 bishops in 451 Ad at the Council of Chalcedon?

The council of Chalcedon is absolute, definite, proof that christianity is a made up tale. How can christians deny this? Are you simply unwilling to look it up?

The Divinity of Christ was clearly taught in the findings of the Council of Nicea in 325 AD.

The original Nicene Creed defined Jesus as "one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father the only-begotten; that is, of the essence of the Father, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;"

The later Council of Chalcedon in 451 was not concerned with Jesus' divinity, which had already been established. It was more concerned with the relationship between Jesus' divine nature and His human nature. It rejected the error of monophysitism.

After the Council of Chalcedon the Oriental Churches broke away from the rest of Christendom (these being the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, and the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.) But all these churches firmly acknowledge the divinity of Jesus, as this teaching predates the Chalcedon Council.

This is not to say that the divinity of Christ was invented at the Council of Nicea. Apart from the New Testament scriptures, there are several 2nd and 3rd century Christian writers who definitely affirmed that Jesus was God. The Council of Nicea merely confirmed previous teaching (by an overwhelming majority). Before the 4th century such councils were not possible as Christianity was an illegal religion under the pagan Roman Empire.

The deity of Christ is explicit in Biblical manuscripts which are hundreds of years older than your Council

Trinitarianism was a belief well before the council convened. What the council did was explain, describe it.

We knew gravity existed well before we had any theories to explain, describe it.

It wasn't. It was made up long before that. The Council of Chalcedon was more about the exact nature of Jesus' divinity, and how it related to his humanity.

That makes no sense. Even Saint Thomas "the doubter" acknowledged Jesus as God - to his face in 33AD. His divinity was known from the very beginning.

Nonsense, Jesus the Christ of Nazareth, is the Messiah, the Word, the Light and God incarnate as John 1:1-14 and His name Emmanuel reveals. <t><

I've looked it up. I believe that the thing is- it did not make it up. I've attached one secular and one religious source for your convenience. I'm Christian, by the way. The Council of Chalcedon only confirmed what was already in the Bible- that it is a divine person that Jesus was on Earth. And this is found in the Bible in numerous places for example Colossians 2:9 ('For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,'[NIV]) and Romans 1:20 ('For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.') and elsewhere. I'm hoping that you will be able to come to this conclusion- God loves you, and His divine Son died on that cross so that you could be forgiven. God bless!

You seem to favor facts. You can not get along with theists like that.

The Bible makes it clear that Jesus is God. That council just made an official statement on the fact.

    How can you "deny this?"

@ Jea -- Sorry the truth upsets you so much.

@ Kweli -- "Are you that delusional" as to not recognize that humans at times go astray? The Arians did, and official clarification was needed.

    @ Jeff -- Love you too! <3 <3 <3

jesus and god are imaginary. so you have two choices, really.

    1. You can go visit them in-person, now, in Imagination Land, or

    2. You can grow up, stop your booger eating, and come into reality.

As for the BuyBull and its authenticity, this makes it VERY clear:
