The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary estimated 43,000 denominations in 2012.

This means that ALL Christians have a 1/40,000 chance at pleasing jesus. No wonder they appeal to faith....

<LOOK IT UP [before] YOU ANSWER> Post a link, then. Your figure is about 40% higher than others I've heard, and I can only find a reference to 22,000 at the website you reference. That's still a buttload of denominations, but not quite enough for one per verse. 30,000, the approximation I've seen before, does surpass it.

<This means that ALL Christians have a 1/40,000 chance at pleasing [Jesus]> That doesn't logically follow; maybe Jesus (if he exists in the first place) likes all of them. It is pretty damning as far as the clarity of the message goes, though, given that this is supposedly the most important message ever received by humankind, and that it was supposedly passed down to us from an omniscient and omnipotent being.

Freedom of conscience. People may seek out the divine and spiritual in various ways. I don't see that as a problem. You guys demand diversity in sexual practices, languages, skin color, and gender identity, so why is diversity in religious and political views so scary to you.

That's a lot of ways to make God angry, and only one way to make him happy. Always assuming, of course, that Christians have the right god out of the millions believed to exist.
