What am I doing wrong? Knit one, purl one?
I have checked the stitches with new yarn. If I knit a row, purl a row, it's perfect.
Started doing ribbing for a jumper and got ribs for about 6 rows, then noticed about 10 rows later that it started looking like the below.
Can't figure it out - I'm new to knitting so please answer in newbie language :)

That looks to me like moss stitch or seed stitch. Basically, it looks like your ribbing is off by one. Instead of the ribs lining up, they're in a checkerboard pattern. Do you know how to ink back? It's pretty easy. There's a video at https://newstitchaday.com/tinking/ that may help you.
