Historically, what is the reason for the disdain of jews?

Jews invented usury (loaning money at an interest rate) In Christian and Muslim kingdoms it was a considered a sin to charge someone interest. Catholic Church still considers it a sin to this day. So in other words if you lent someone one hundred dollars you could only collect 100 dollars back. In Christian Europe when it was a theocracy you could actually go to jail for charging interest. In the Middle Ages some Jews started the usury, they preyed on small farmers and the became rich that way. Again I'm not saying it was all Jews, but there was a reason people distrusted Jews. This went on for decades and since Jews got rich with usury a lot of them got into powerful businesses, etc. Again any discrimination against the jewish people is wrong, but you can look up usury, it is traced back to the Jews. The whole usury thing caused a lot of anger that went on for several centuries.
