How to diagnose clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder clutch is solid will not disengage can't push in at all?
94 Ford Ranger V6 4.0 2 wheel drive my clutch went solid while driving last night it will not disengage wondering how to diagnose if it's the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder please help no fluid leaking anywhere I'm hoping it's just the master I would be the cheap and easy one just don't know how to tell which one is bad

The slave combo throw-out bearing is seized up, open the bleeder and the pedal will move to check the master cylinder pedal operation. Since it's a combination part on the gear box input shaft, the transmission and driveshaft must be removed to replace it. I would spend a few extra $ to get the better quality Napa part, stay away from the plastic replacements. That's ford, plastic parts like the infamous plastic brake caliper pistons.
