In The Hunt For Red October, there is a word used to describe when a ship is taken over by the officers. Please tell me, what is that word?
And No, it's not Mutiny.
I now believe the word I seek is Barratry. Although not typically a military term, it means an act of vandalism or theft committed by the ship's captain and crew, to inflict a loss for the ship's owner.

Commandeering? This is a military term for taking over something, usually during martial law.
I think your mind is playing tricks on you; the term mutiny is pretty universal. Hijack might be what you are thinking, but mutiny is just a nautical hijacking.
It is also better to say Hello Jack to friends named Jack in airports or on airliners. Don't say Hi Jack.

"Insubordination" is the closest military term to mutiny I can think of.
I know that movie pretty well; if you can describe the context or scene, you might trigger a memory for me.
I'll check back.

Doesn't sound familiar. The word I'm looking for is a maritime legal term. I believe the term Coup is a political term.
