Jesus said in John 10:34 we are all Gods . We are subconsciously punishing ourselves in order to motivate ourselves to obey all of Jesus' sayings .

I suppose you think if parents want to protect their children that they should lock them up in their rooms and never allow them to go outside?

    Your question is misleading.

First of all, he didn't create programmed robots to love him because that's not real love. He gives us the free choice to love and obey him or reject him. If one chooses to love God, especially when things don't go their way, it really is a choice of their own free will.

Second, until the evil act occurs, God does NOT know with certainty if it will occur. Sometimes people change their minds at the last minute. (Investigate the word "now" in Gen 22:12 to see how God does NOT know the outcomes of our decisions before we decide.) Now if a person has a history of evil, then God will intervene in some way. That's why he creates governments, to punish wrongdoers (Rom 13:1-5). When a person is arrested, that's God NOT permitting wickedness, at least any more of it.

Because for reasons we cannot understand with our human minds he gave free will to human beings and unfortunately some choose to reject love in favor of being wicked. God is love, but Satan is hate and sometimes he wins in the battle for humanity's souls.

Sometimes we must teach our children discipline by allowing them to mess up. If we are hands on all the time we will fail.

Not only does he permit it, he seems to encourage it. Christians love to talk about the free will of rapists and murderers, but what about their victims? I guess they don't get their free will. Which means that God actively sides with the rapists and murderers.

    God is God.

    Love is love.

There is no reason to create confusion.

I know that "God is love" is a pleasant way to say that God loves us, but it should be remembered that the phrase is only a metaphor.

Love is a biologically induced emotional bond that occurs in many animal species and most mammals.
