The only time I deem it acceptable to wear flip flops is on the beach, or at a pool. Anywhere where you need to have quick access of taking your shoes off and getting your feet wet. Other than that, I think the fashionable thing to do is to wear sandals instead.

I think it's okay though and perfectly normal when people where flip flops! Just talking from a fashion perspective (I'm a fashion merchandiser). Although - in recent fashion shows there have been quite a few flip flops - so they are probably coming back into style. I'll still never probably wear them
